12 things to get rid of in your children’s spaces right now
Let’s face it, kid items collect faster than you can blink your eyes. If you go into your child’s room right now with a garbage bag, I am certain that there are many things that you could throw away. Yes, some of the items on this list can be recycled or donated. You should get the clutter out. By the way, you must do this process often or it will be full again before you know it.
The hardest part about keeping children’s spaces organized is that they change so much. Their interests change as they grow, their sizes change constantly, and their needs add up too.
Here’s a list of things that you can tackle right now.
✅ clothes & shoes that are too small
✅ toys, games, & puzzles that have been outgrown
✅ items that are broken, torn, stained or have holes
✅ junk or free items that aren’t used
✅ anything that has been recalled
✅ broken crayons, worn out craft supplies
✅ excess school papers & artwork
✅ books that are falling apart
✅ socks that don’t have a match
✅ stuffed animals that aren’t played with
✅ gifts that won’t be used
✅ trash or boxes
If you’re overwhelmed with this process, you can start with one type of item or one space. You should focus on the areas that collect the most clutter and pay close attention to those spaces as often as you can. Kids are a lot of work and managing their things is too. Don’t let the stuff in your kid’s life take over and cause you stress.
